View Across the Valley

A few years ago we stayed in a house in the Malvern Hills area close to Great Malvern in the UK. This was the view we had from the property. It was a great place to watch the changing weather as it moved through the valley.

Porto Peacock

This peacock was seen in Jardins do Palácio de Cristal in Porto, Portugal last summer. We often saw peacocks when we visited the park, but this was the only time I remember seeing one of the male birds displaying its magnificent plumage like this.

Nighttime on the Streets of Madrid

Taken a little over a year ago when we were in Madrid, Spain for a few days and nights. By this time of night the streets were pretty quiet. This seemed like a good image to turn to monochrome.

Angel Trumpet Flower

This amazing flowering tree was seen during one of our trips to San Jose, Costa Rica, and believe it or not this was taken in November even though it looks like a spring flower capture.

Strolling Through the Surf Grass

This was taken in Morro Bay, California where I saw several blue herons on my walks around the bay. I suppose this one was searching for something to eat in the surf grass.

Magnolia In Bloom

The magnolias are a beautiful species and another sure sign that spring has arrived. This one was captured a few years ago in Springfield, Oregon on a lovely sunny afternoon.

This was taken at the Hakone Open-Air Sculpture Museum in Hakone, Japan. It is a large mirrored globe processed especially for Sliders Sunday.

The River Lee and a Gull

St. Patrick's Bridge is on the left and the buildings along St. Patrick's Quay take up the rest of the image along with the reflections in the River Lee and a chance capture of a low flying sea gull. What are the odds of capturing a seagull like that with my phone camera?

I love exploring and photographing old narrow cobblestone streets. This one in Porto, Portugal is not as narrow as some I have photographed, but I really like all the different colors and the textures added by all the windows and balconies.

A Fine Autumn Day in York

What could be better than floating along the River Ouse in York? Well, probably lots of things, but this doesn't look too bad for a lazy afternoon in late September a few years ago. That's the Scarborough Rail Bridge in the distance.
